If you were watching Sunday Night Football, you may have heard this shocking stat about former Badger QB and current Seattle Seahawks star Russell Wilson: He has never even received a first place vote for MVP.
The 31-year-old QB is a seven-time Pro Bowler, has led the NFL in passer rating (2015), is a Super Bowl champion, and yet has never received one single vote for MVP. That looks like it will change this year, if the first two weeks are any indication of what’s to come.
Russell Wilson is the FIRST QB in NFL history to…
throw for 9+ TDs
with fewer than 17 incompletions
in his first 2 gamesWilson destroyed the mark, throwing 9 TDs with just 11 incompletions on 63 attempts (82.5% completions) pic.twitter.com/K1oM4noVv4

Last night, the Seahawks star put on a downfield show, throwing five touchdown passes to five different receivers. It was Seattle’s defense that made the winning stand by stopping Patriots QB Cam Newton at the 1-yard line on the final play of the night.
Wilson’s Hawks are 2-0 and look the part of a contender in the NFC. When Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll “let’s Russ cook,” Wilson delivers. He is on his way to a heavy share of MVP votes.
