A new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) proposal has been sent by the union’s leaders to the general membership for a vote, which if approved by the players would bring labor peace for the next 10 years.
However – while many believe the players will approve the proposal, there are a handful of players who have vocally challenged the new agreement – including the league’s highest paid player, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
Wilson – who is not normally one to get controversial on social media – took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to voice his feelings about the vote.
The @NBA & @MLB are doing it right.
Players come first.ALL @NFL players deserve the same.
WE should not rush the next 10 YEARS for Today’s satisfaction.
I VOTE NO.

“The NBA & MLB are doing it right,” Wilson wrote. “Players come first. All NFL players deserve the same. WE should not rush the next 10 YEARS for Today’s satisfaction. I VOTE NO.”
Wilson’s likely disagreement with the new CBA is regarding the percent of league revenue devoted to player salaries, which would bump up from 47% to 48.5%, which is still less than the MLB and NBA, who get 52 and 50%, respectively.
Wilson is not alone, with teammates Quandre Diggs and Tyler Lockett both expressing displeasure with the revenue share as well.
We know he working for the owners spreading lies.. https://t.co/1AIFIDTUTW

The new CBA would include an additional 17th regular season game as well as an expansion to the current playoff format, if approved by the players in the next few weeks.
