Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has never missed a game in his NFL career and will probably insist on playing next Sunday night against the Steelers regardless of how he feels. Right now it looks like he won’t be close to 100%, though. Wilson suffered an injury to his throwing hand in tonight’s loss to the Rams.
Here’s the play. Wilson’s throwing motion follows through and his hand hits (who else?) Aaron Donald’s elbow on the way down.
Here is video of the @DangeRussWilson mallet finger (PIP joint extensor tendon) injury. Expect it to be pinned and option to play Week 6. pic.twitter.com/MMCX6asNgi

Geno Smith put in a valiant effort in the fourth quarter with Wilson sidelined, but obviously he’s not in the same class of quarterback.
Update:
Coach Pete Carroll says Wilson has a “badly sprained” finger.
