Russell Wilson (concussion) will start vs. Rams on Christmas Day

Russell Wilson is set to return for the Broncos in Week 16 vs. the Rams after a one-game absence.

The Los Angeles Rams are preparing to take on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Monday night, and they’ll be squaring off against another Super Bowl-winning quarterback in Week 16. After missing Sunday’s game due to a head injury, Denver Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett announced that Russell Wilson will start against the Rams on Christmas Day.

Wilson suffered a scary head injury in Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The veteran signal-caller would be replaced by Brett Rypien in Week 14 and despite clearing the concussion protocol on Friday, the Broncos held Wilson out against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15 as a precaution.

The Rams have plenty of experience facing Wilson as he spent 10 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. Entering the upcoming matchup, the Rams have an 8-12 record against Wilson.

The showdown between the Rams and the Broncos on Christmas is one of three games being played on the holiday. And with Matthew Stafford set to miss the rest of the season, it will be Baker Mayfield against Wilson when the Rams face the Broncos in Week 16.
