Russell Westbrook is still a good player, but he is a very flawed player.
Of his multiple flaws, the one that perhaps irked Los Angeles Lakers fans most last season was his inability to consistently hit from the outside.
He made only 29.8% of his 3-point attempts during the 2021-22 season, and he was one reason the team finished 22nd in 3-point shooting accuracy.
There has been little reason to believe he would improve that this season, but a new report may offer a glimmer of hope.

“Westbrook slightly refined his shooting form this summer, and sources say his catch-and-shoot 3-point percentage has been improved in workouts and scrimmages.”
Westbrook is such a frantic player that perhaps his shot attempts lack that slight accent of finesse that makes so much of a difference when it comes to accuracy.
With Kendrick Nunn healthy and an additional ball-handling guard in Dennis Schroder added to the roster, the onetime University of California, Los Angeles standout will have the ball less this season, making it a necessity for him to improve his ability to hit shots off passes from teammates.
By all accounts, he has been a good soldier for new head coach Darvin Ham, so far. It remains to be seen if he will experience the boost in his perimeter shooting percentages the Lakers and their fans have been desperate for.
