Russell Stong IV is on his way to his dream of raising $100,000. The former UCLA Basketball player has gotten to over $25,000 of the $100K needed for the engineering scholarship which will be in his name.
He had an event during the week on campus, which former Bruins Jaime Jaquez Jr and David Singleton were able to attend.
Early this year, Stong IV was talking with the Daily Bruin, and he was asked about the event and how it was even considered to begin with. He had this to say:
“It’s been a long time in the works. I knew once I finished basketball and I finished my undergraduate career at UCLA, I wanted to give back in some manner. I wanted it to last for a long time to help future generations, hopefully leave a legacy for myself, while also helping others.”
During his time with UCLA basketball, Stong played very seldom in parts of 37 games. He came to UCLA from Northridge California.
