Rush Propst makes first coaching hire at USA Academy

Rush Propst is the former coach of powerhouse Hoover High School in Alabama that gained notoriety on the MTV show Two-A-Days. In 2004, Jeremy Pruitt got his first break in the coaching business when Propst hired him as an assistant. Propst has now been hired as USA Academy’s head coach.

Rush Propst was hired as head coach at the Ultimate Student Athletes (USA) Academy, located in Coosada, Ala. on Jan. 2.

USA Academy will begin play in 2020 with a mission to seek exceptionally promising student-athletes of all backgrounds from across the nation and the world. USA Academy will educate student-athletes through mental and physical discipline, athletic experience, while placing them on a national stage and preparing for the next chapter of their lives.

Propst made his first coaching staff hire on Monday. Jeff Kent has been named defensive coordinator for USA Academy.

Notable players Kent has coached recently include Quay Walker (Georgia), J.J. Peterson (Tennessee), Markaveist “Big Kat” Bryant (Auburn), Rashard Revels (UAB), Marcus Anderson (Georgia State) and Camari “Juicy” Louis (Kennesaw State).
