The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to enjoy a successful offseason when the team announced on Thursday that the team’s mascot — Rumble the Bison — won the inaugural NBA mascot community impact award.
Rumble was voted as the winner from his fellow NBA mascots due to his involvement with the Oklahoma City community and brand exposure he brought to the Thunder.
Rumble had over 190 appearances and interacted with 75,000 fans during the 2020-21 season.
This is a neat award for both Rumble and the Thunder. While fans might not think of much about the team’s mascot, they are essentially ambassadors of the team with their involvement with the youth.
