Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker was crowned the NBA 2K Players Tournament champion after defeating teammate Deandre Ayton in the finals on Saturday night.
Booker entered the tournament as one of the favorites to win and the All-Star responded by going a perfect 6-0. Booker defeated his opponents by an average of 10.8 points and his 16-point win over Washington Wizards rookie Rui Hachimura was his largest margin of victory in the tournament.
By winning the inaugural NBA 2K Players Tournament, Booker received $100,000 from the NBA, NBPA and 2K to donate to a charity of his choice in support of the ongoing coronavirus relief efforts.

The 2K Tournament was well received by fans and became the most-watched esports broadcast in ESPN history after debuting on April 3. The organizers of the tournament are hopeful it can become a regular event in the future after its warm reception.
The NBA has helped fill the void of live sports during the coronavirus pandemic by creating several social media challenges for fans and the 2K Tournament. The league will also be debuting the NBA HORSE Challenge with Chris Paul and others set to tipoff on Sunday night.
