After scoring a team-high 21 points on Friday, Washington Wizards rookie Hachimura was held to just nine points on Sunday during a 118-110 loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

Hachimura tallied just two points in the first half as the Wizards and Nets were tied at halftime. Hachimura scored five of his nine points at the free-throw line as he went 2-of-6 from the field and finished with four rebounds and four assists.

Hachimura has been praised for his aggressiveness since arriving at the Walt Disney World Resort but that was not on display on Sunday. The performance by Hachimura was a bit uncharacteristic and one that came at an unfortunate time for the Wizards.

The loss by the Wizards likely puts their hopes of qualifying for the postseason very low. The Wizards dropped to seven games behind the Nets in eighth place and will need to cut that deficit to within four games in order to force a play-in tournament.

The Wizards play next at 4 p.m. ET on Monday against the Indiana Pacers.
