Rui Hachimura loses to Devin Booker in NBA 2K Players Tournament

The Wizards rookie was blown out by Booker in the NBA 2K Players Tournament on Thursday night.

Washington Wizards rookie Rui Hachimura lost to fifth-seeded Devin Booker in the quarterfinals of the NBA 2K Players Tournament on Thursday night, 71-55.

Hachimura trailed Booker for much of the contest as the Phoenix Suns guard proved to be too dominant for Hachimura. Booker entered the tournament as one of the favorites to win as he has been known to be a gamer, even vowing to beat his opponents by at least 10 points.

Hachimura defeated Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell on Sunday to advance to play Booker but struggled with the Los Angeles Clippers while Booker used the Dallas Mavericks in the contest.

After defeating Hachimura, Booker will face the winner of the matchup between Derrick Jones Jr. and Montrezl Harrell in the semifinals, which are a best-of-three series.

The winner will be crowned the ultimate NBA 2K20 champion and select a charity beneficiary to receive a $100,000 donation from 2K, the NBA and the NBPA in support of ongoing coronavirus relief efforts.
