Rudy Gobert to donate more than $500,000 to support arena workers, fund coronavirus relief

Rudy Gobert is donating more than $500,000 to fund coronavirus relief and pay arena workers’ salaries.

A slew of NBA players have been stepping up during the coronavirus crisis and donating money to cover the salaries of vulnerable arena workers who were put out of work when the league suspended operations earlier this week.

We’ve seen names like Zion Williamson, Kevin Love, Giannis Antetokounmpo and others make generous pledges. Now Rudy Gobert, the man who sparked a far more serious response by sports leagues after he tested positive on Wednesday, is joining in.

He was the center of attention last week when he was the first NBA player to test positive for coronavirus. Now, he’ll be in headlines for something different.

The Jazz center is donating $400,000 to support the Jazz’s employee relief fund and coronavirus social services in Utah and Oklahoma City, and €100,000 to support the French health care system, according to a statement from the team.

Here’s a breakdown of where all of Gobert’s money is going.

Shoutout to Gobert and the rest of these players stepping in and helping people in their biggest time of need. You absolutely love to see it.
