Built like a true center. Not a particularly tall prospect, but carries his weight well and has solid arm length. Very technically sound prospect. Has an excellent base and does a good job with his hands. More than sound in pass protection. Also has the quickness and leverage to be strong in the run game. Needs to improve testing numbers and continue to get more explosive. Very good football player though who is as consistent and reliable as it gets and should be a reliable multi-year starter in college.
From The Wolverine’s EJ Holland:
Likes to get nasty when run blocking and has served up numerous pancakes in my in-game evals. Overwhelms defensive linemen with his size and strength. Plays with a bully mentality. Has improved tremendously from junior to senior year from a technical standpoint. Also cut some bad weight. Deceptively nimble. Very good with his hands and feet. Has received comparison from the Michigan staff to Michael Onwenu and could very well have a similar path. Has guard flexibility due to his physical nature and brute strength.
Moves people off the ball with his quick first step and ability to keep legs churning through contact. Four-year starter at Cass Tech who has the finer points of the center position down.
2021 Outlook: With Zach Carpenter in the transfer portal, and former walk-on Andrew Vastardis getting on in years, it’s likely going to be a young center who gets the nod in 2021. Current freshman Reece Atteberry will probably get the first look, but Anderson is going to have a chance to show what he can do.
