Excellent frame with length. Plays receiver and lines up wide and in slot. Great body type for tight end. Will be able to carry 240 pounds easily. Tracks ball and high points it. Uses length and size well. Sets up routes well. Has to work on getting out of breaks with more explosion. Will have to learn how to be inline tight end. Needs to sink hips when he blocks. Adding upper body strength is a must. Has to get off line of scrimmage more quickly at snap. Multi-year starter at Top 20 program. Day 3 NFL draft potential.
Excellent route runner and natural pass catcher. Knows how to use his size to his advantage and goes up and gets it at the highest point. Great body control. Physical blocker in the run game. Also flashed his ability as a defensive end during my in-game eval as a junior, recording three sacks. Very bright kid that will be an ambassador for the program on and off the field. Extremely high floor.
Large catch radius with great body control and technique to high point the ball. Lacks explosiveness off the line and has to polish up his route running. Willing blocker that has to work on his pad level and strength.
2021 Outlook: Michigan isn’t necessarily loaded at the tight end position, and the likely departure of Nick Eubanks means that Hansen will have an opportunity at seeing the field early in his career. Michigan is big on current Sophomore Erick All, but there’s really no clear No. 2 on the depth chart at the tight end position at this point. If Hansen can quickly add the necessary upper body strength needed to compete at this level, he may see the field quite often in year one.
