Round 2 Sixers mock draft: Houston’s Nate Hinton mocked at 49 overall

Another Round 2 mock draft option for the Philadelphia 76ers includes Houston guard Nate Hinton.

The Philadelphia 76ers have an interesting draft situation heading into the 2020 NBA Draft. They own a  first-round pick at the moment from the Oklahoma City Thunder, but that could change if the Thunder lose too many games once the season resumes in Orlando on July 30.

What is concrete is they possess four second-round picks in this draft. General manager Elton Brand has shown a propensity for moving those picks, but this draft may persuade him to re-think that idea and use those picks for the benefit of the team.

Bryan Kalbrosky of Rookie Wire has put out his latest mock draft, version 4.0, and for one of Philadelphia’s late picks at 49 has the Sixers selecting a player with a high motor in Houston’s Nate Hinton.

Kalbrosky on Hinton:

Nate Hinton averaged 10.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore for Houston. His offensive and defensive rebound percentage both ranked in the top 10 among players 6-foot-5 or shorter, per Bart Torvik.

On top of those impressive rebounding numbers, Hinton also shot 38.7% from deep on 3.8 attempts per game as a sophomore for the Cougars. For a team that is so desperate for shooting, the Sixers could certainly take a flier on him this late in the draft. [lawrence-related id=33302,33295,33288]
