BOSTON — Former University of Tennessee baseball player Zack Godley had another rough outing on the mound for the Boston Red Sox Friday afternoon.
Godley, a right-handed pitcher, made another start for the Red Sox in their 8-7 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in the first game of a double header at Fenway Park.
With the loss, Godley dropped to 0-4 on the season.
He pitched three innings and surrendered four runs (all earned), five hits and a walk en route to being tagged with the loss. He had four strikeouts and his earned run average ballooned to 8.16.
Godley was acquired by the Red Sox late in spring training after he was released by the Detroit Tigers.
In his Major League career, Godley has also pitched for the Blue Jays and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Boston bounced back to nab a 3-2 win over Toronto in the nightcap.
