Roterius Torrence commits to Tennessee.

The University of Tennessee football team and head coach Josh Heupel landed a verbal commitment from a top junior college player Monday.

Roterius “Ro” Torrence, who played this spring at Hutchinson Community College, announced his commitment to the Volunteers on a social media post via Twitter on Monday.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound cornerback also garnered interest from Auburn and Mississippi State from the Southeastern Conference, as well as Nebraska and Oregon State.

He recently completed his season at Hutchinson as the team played in the spring as the school’s fall season was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The future Vol appeared in seven games as a sophomore for the Blue Dragons.

Torrence made 20 tackles and had six pass deflections.
