Now that the Philadelphia 76ers will possess a first-round pick in the 2022 NBA draft, it is time to take a look at some mock drafts and see what the experts believe will be available for Philadelphia at No. 23 overall.
The Sixers are a team that could use more depth at the wings as well as another player who can handle the ball and create shots for himself and others. They could also use another backup big man to Joel Embiid, but they can worry about that in free agency.
The latest mock draft performed by Rookie Wire has the Sixers selecting 6-foot-4 guard Jaden Hardy of the G League Ignite:
Hardy, who called himself the top prospect in the draft, could be a good option for the Sixers to consider. He was once viewed as a top-five pick but slipped a bit due to a variety of issues. However, he would bring a nice scoring punch to Philly, which proved to be an area of concern.
Hardy averaged 17.7 points and 4.6 rebounds during his time with G League Ignite and he is a physical player who can play multiple positions. If the Sixers do make this pick, which is a question mark due to Daryl Morey’s trading tendencies, then a guy like Hardy would do wonders for the bench unit.
