Rookie Report: Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga records 19 points off bench in loss vs. Timberwolves

During the Warriors’ loss to the Timberwolves on Sunday, rookie Jonathan Kuminga recorded his third consecutive impressive game with 19 points off the bench.

With Draymond Green slated to miss the next two weeks with a calf injury connected to his lower back, the Golden State Warriors will need some help in the frontcourt.

With more minutes available, rookie Jonathan Kuminga has impressed in an increased role. Despite Golden State’s loss in Minnesota on Sunday, the No. 7 overall draft pick from the 2021 NBA draft recorded his third consecutive games with a double-figure scoring effort.

Against the Timberwolves, Kuminga stepped up with Green, Steph Curry and Gary Payton II ruled out. The 19-year-old forward tallied 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor with seven boards and an assist in 33 minutes.

Jordan Poole was the only member of the Warriors to outscore Kuminga against the Timberwolves with 20 points of his own.
