Rookie Report: James Wiseman’s stats and highlights from career-high 20 point performance vs. Spurs

Against the Spurs, Warriors rookie James Wiseman notched a new career-high with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting in 25 minutes.

After recording a season-low four points and five fouls against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, James Wiseman bounced back in a big way on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs.

While wearing Golden State’s new “Oakland Forever” uniforms, the 2020 No. 2 overall draft pick recorded a career-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field. Wiseman added six boards and four assists in 25 minutes against the Spurs.

For the fourth consecutive game, Wiseman didn’t launch a 3-pointer, scoring all of his points inside the arc. During his performance against the Spurs, dunking was a theme for Wiseman. The 19-year-old slammed home seven of his eight field goals, including a lob from Steph Curry

Along with classic alley-oops from Curry and Draymond Green, Wiseman sent down emphatic dunks from all over the court. After snatching an offensive rebound in the third quarter, the Memphis product spiked a powerful one-handed reverse from underneath the basket.

Over the last four games, Wiseman has laced up against some of the NBA’s top bigs. After defending players like Myles Turner, Nikola Jokic, Anthony Davis, Montrezl Harrell and LaMarcus Aldridge, the young center will welcome New York’s Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson to Chase Center’s frontcourt on Thursday.
