In 18 minutes off the bench on Tuesday against the Dallas Mavericks, rookie Jonathan Kuminga took over for the Golden State Warriors.
The 19-year-old led the Warriors in scoring with 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field with five boards. Kuminga showed off his entire repertoire with athletic dunks and a pure jumper on 4-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc.
After Golden State’s blowout win over Dallas on Tuesday, Kuminga became the latest first-year player to land on Rookie Wire’s power rankings. The Warriors’ youngster cracked the list at No. 10 on Cody Taylor’s new Rookie Wire power rankings.
Via Rookie Wire:
Kuminga continues to see sporadic playing time with the Warriors but has produced when called upon. He is averaging 13.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists over his last eight games on 45.8% shooting from 3-point range. While it may not be an official stat, it feels like Kuminga is averaging at least one highlight-worthy dunk per appearance, including this one from Tuesday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Since the start of 2022, Kuminga is averaging 10.5 points on 48.9% shooting from the field with 4.2 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game. During that span, the G League Ignite product has notched double-figures in scoring in six different contests, including two games with 20 or more points.
With Draymond Green expected to miss more time with an injury, Kuminga could continue to be involved in Golden State’s rotation. With more opportunity, Kuminga could continue to climb Rookie Wire’s power rankings.
