Rookie LB Divine Deablo passes physical, cleared to practice for Raiders

Though the Raiders didn’t have on-field practice on Wednesday, they had one of their rookie draft picks be cleared to practice. Third-round linebacker Divine Deablo passes his physical which means he’s clear to come off the Physically Unable to Perform list and return to practice when the team takes the field today.

Deablo has been on the PUP list since the beginning of camp with a knee injury. He has regularly been seen working on a side field with a trainer during camp practices.

The 6-3, 228-pounder was a safety at Virginia Tech, but was drafted to play linebacker for the Raiders. He will push for playing time behind starting linebackers Cory Littleton, Nicholas Morrow, and Nick Kwiatkoski. Others in the mix include Tanner Muse, Javin White, and Darron Lee.

There is just one training camp practice left this week ahead of the Raiders preseason opener against the Seahawks at Allegiant Stadium. From there they will have a couple more camp practices Henderson before heading for LA to scrimmage with the Rams prior to their preseason meeting.

If Deablo takes the field right away today, he will participate in six actual camp practices before the team switches to regular practices for the remaining three weeks before the season opener no September 13.
