On Tuesday, Rockets rookie guard Jalen Green took another step towards getting back into the starting rotation. After practice, he went through a rigorous set of shooting drills with coach John Lucas. It was the second time within the last week that Green was spotted taking shots after practice.

“Jalen is progressing,” said Rockets head coach Stephen Silas. “Obviously, he is out shooting right now, basically just spot shots, but moving along.”

Green has missed five games after suffering a hamstring injury against the Chicago Bulls on Nov. 24.

Although Houston could use his ball-handling skills with backcourt mate Kevin Porter Jr. out with a bruised thigh, they have decided that they will give him the proper amount of time to heal by evaluating him on a week-to-week basis.

On Friday, coach Silas will give the media another update about Green’s progression that could provide a potential return date.
