With Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason on the injured reserve, Sunday’s contest against the Chicago Bears marked the first start for San Francisco 49ers rookie running back Isaac Guerendo.
After helping the 49ers down the field early for a touchdown against the Bears, Guerendo impressed again on the second 49ers scoring drive on Sunday in Santa Clara.
Prior to a short touchdown run, Guerendo showed off his receiving skills with a catch on a high-arcing pass from Brock Purdy. On the next play, Guerendo punched in a one-yard touchdown run to give the 49ers’ a 14-0 lead in the first quarter against the Bears.
