Rookie Green Bay LB Edgerrin Cooper making his case to be a full-time starter in 2025

Texas A&M football All-American had a productive NFL season and is looking to move into a full-time starting role next season.

Texas A&M football could’ve used Edgerrin Cooper this past season, but the NFL was in the cards, and he has flourished during his first season with the Green Bay Packers.

He started the year cutting his teeth on special teams and a backup linebacker. As the season progressed, he earned more time on the field and flashed, catching the eye of the coaching staff, especially the head coach Matt LaFleur.

“He’s going to make some splash, and he did. But I think there’s another level there that he can continue to take his game to.”

Since returning from injury, he’s been playing at a pro-bowl level, with 28 tackles, 6.5 TFL, one sack, and one interception in three games. Against the Minnesota Vikings, he lived in the backfield with a season-high four TFLs

Cooper has a lot of room to improve, but the growth he’s shown at the tail end of the season is hopefully a glimpse into what his future holds.
