The Cleveland Browns are hopeful that they can make it to Week 1 of the NFL’s regular season healthy. Injuries have already played a role with a few players, including starting center Nick Harris, but the Browns have kept most starters off the field during the first two preseason games.
In the first game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, rookie DE Isaiah Thomas looked good. The seventh-round pick had three tackles including two sacks.
Thomas missed Cleveland’s second preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a hand injury. He then flew to be there for his child’s birth before returning to the team Tuesday.
As HC Kevin Stefanski had hoped for, Thomas was able to return to practice with his hand wrapped for protection on Wednesday:

With Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney at the top of the depth chart, Thomas has a lot of competition to make the team at defensive end. Chase Winovich, Isaac Rochell, Alex Wright, Chris Odom, Curtis Weaver and Thomas are all fighting to be a part of the Browns great defense.
With his return to practice, Thomas is likely to see playing time Saturday night versus the Chicago Bears.
