Going forward, Ron Rivera says that it will be Kyle Allen to get the QB1 job for Washington over Alex Smith.

Both Alex Smith and Kyle Allen got some time to play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, and neither player took advantage of the opportunity.

Though Allen did manage to score the team’s only touchdown of the day, the offense as a whole put up barely over 100 yards on the day and looked like the worst team in the NFL. Allen was knocked out of the game momentarily after hurting his shoulder on a late hit, and Smith stepped in as his backup. From there, Smith took over for the rest of the game, but proved ineffective, to say the least.

Goin forward, Rivera said that Allen is the guy at QB, should he be healthy enough to play, and he will get the nod to start a pivotal stretch of games in the division for Washington.
