Washington Redskins head coach Ron Rivera isn’t worried about the Greg Olsen situation.
The free-agent tight end is supposedly done with his visits after making the rounds and will make a decision soon about where he might end up playing — if at all.
According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, Rivera recently told reporters he expects to hear from the veteran soon.
Olsen has made it clear he still wants to play, though we’d be remiss not to mention he could transition right to broadcasting if he doesn’t like the offers on the table.
One could presume the Redskins made a good offer though. Besides the former Rivera connection, Washington just freed up a ton of cap space by cutting Josh Norman and others. Tight end is also one of the team’s biggest needs this offseason.
Going by Rivera’s word, Redskins fans shouldn’t have to wait much longer on the Olsen front.
Ron Rivera said he expects to hear from Greg Olsen soon on a decision (interviewed with WASH, Seattle and Buffalo). He added that his impression from Olsen remains that he DEFINITELY is leaning toward playing in 2020. Olsen obviously also has broadcasting options to consider.
