Big business news for Washington football as Terry Bateman gets named EVP and Chief Marketing Officer. My guess is that means Ron Rivera doesn’t have to answer so many questions on business ops. pic.twitter.com/LxwcvWbWp6

Washington took a major step on Monday morning when they announced the hiring of Terry Bateman as the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of the organization.
Bateman is expected to begin his role immediately, with a lot of work to catch up on.
With a whirlwind of activity taking place in the Washington organization over the past week has left a glaring lack of leadership in the front office, and many people have been forced to look towards new head coach Ron Rivera for any type of direction. Though he has been an ever-stable figure in whichever franchise he stands, asking Rivera to oversee a team name change that appeases everyone, as well as help clean up a sexual and verbal abuse case that was brought to light last week, is a bit much.
Luckily for Rivera, Bateman’s new role will likely take that sort of thing off of his plate, allowing the coach to focus on football.
Terry Bateman will work with Dan Snyder on Washington's name change and rebranding, and will also oversee the team's marketing, sponsor relations, internet and broadcast media operations and overall business strategy.
Ron Rivera can now focus on football as camp (maybe) looms.

Washington has hired Terry Bateman to oversee their business operations. He will have the title of executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Gives them someone in charge of business; allows Ron Rivera to focus on the football side.
