Boston Celtics rookie Romeo Langford re-injured his right ankle on Sunday while on assignment with the Maine Red Claws in the G League, according to Scott Agness of The Athletic.
Langford originally rolled his right ankle with the Red Claws on Nov. 15 and just returned to action on Sunday prior to re-injuring the same ankle. He suffered the injury at the start of the fourth quarter and would not return to the game.
The first-round pick recorded 14 points in 18 minutes prior to the injury.
Langford has battled a number of injuries since joining the Celtics.
He did not play in Summer League after recovering from offseason thumb surgery and he also suffered a knee sprain and a groin injury during the preseason that limited him. His appearance on Sunday was just his third of the season in the G League.
More bad luck for Indiana product Romeo Langford. He suffered a right ankle sprain in a G League game today and will be re-evaluated on Monday, per the Celtics.
