Romeo Langford a scratch for tilt with Rockets as wing ramps up conditioning

The second-year wing is getting closer, but isn’t quite ready for live game action.

The Boston Celtics have downgraded second-year shooting guard Romeo Langford to out for the team’s game against the Houston Rockets, with the Indiana native listed as unavailable due to post health and safety protocols reconditioning.

Precisely what that entails is not entirely evident, but reading between the lines it seems Langford simply needs more time to get himself up to game speed after having been out since the 2020 NBA Playoffs hosted in the Disney bubble. Fans, the Indiana product himself and his teammates have been presumably anticipating Langford’s return for some time, the former Hoosier most recently being sidelined by a stint in the league’s health and safety protocols the very day he had been cleared to return to play.

For now it seems the most likely return for Langford will be in Sunday. April 4th’s home contest with the Charlotte Hornets.
