Rockets never get off the ground as Celtics win 116-107 on the road

The Celtics saw four of their five starters score in double figures in the road victory, including a triple-double by Jaylen Brown.

Even though the contest was never really in doubt with the Houston Rockets’ biggest lead vs. the Boston Celtics on Sunday night a mere 1 point in the opening moments of the tilt, the Rockets put up a good fight in the game’s second half of Boston’s 116-107 win.

The Celtics saw four of their five starters score in double figures in the road victory, including a triple-double by Jaylen Brown (13 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists). Kristaps Porzingis led all scorers with 32 points, 6 boards, and 5 blocks, with Derrick White (21 points, 11 rebounds), and Jayson Tatum (18 points, 7 boards) all contributing to the win.

With the win, the Celtics improve to 33-10 on the season and a 3.5 game lead over the Milwaukee Bucks in holding the Eastern Conference’s top spot.

The Celtics next play the Dallas Mavericks on the road this Monday, Jan. 21, 2024 in the second half of their Texan back-to-back.
