Houston Rockets rookie Jalen Green on Friday tried his hand at some baseball and threw out the ceremonial first pitch as the Astros hosted the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Green was on hand for the festivities as the two teams opened a three-game series at Minute Maid Park. He was treated to quite a contest as the Astros took the 4-3 win after pinch-hitter Chas McCormick was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the 10th inning.

The second overall pick took the mound wearing a No. 4 Astros jersey and proceeded to settle in. He waited a few seconds and then delivered the pitch to Orbit, the Astros’ mascot.

Houston improved to 87-60 with the win over Arizona.

Green has been mixing in appearances at various sporting events throughout the offseason ahead of his rookie season. He previously attended a Fresno State football game and watched his hometown team pull out the win in Week 1 in early September.

The 19-year-old will soon join the Rockets for the start of training camp ahead of what projects to be a productive rookie season. Certainly, Rockets fans cannot wait to see him take the court.
