Rockets’ Jalen Green ruled out of returning vs. Bulls with leg injury

Green suffered a left lower leg injury on Wednesday against the Bulls and was ruled out of returning.

Houston Rockets rookie Jalen Green suffered a left lower leg injury on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls and was ruled out of returning, according to Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest.

Green appeared to first injure himself on a drive to the basket toward the end of the first quarter. He needed a moment to himself on the court before he was able to get up and shoot his free throws. He then went straight back to the locker room for further evaluation.

The second overall pick had turned in a strong first quarter prior to the injury, recording 11 points, two rebounds and one assist. He went 4-of-5 from the field, including 1-of-2 from 3-point range.

The Rockets will certainly be hoping that injury to Green is not too severe and that Green will be able to return to play soon. The team has lost 15 consecutive games entering play on Wednesday as Green has been among a few bright spots for the team.
