Thursday’s game between the Rockets (1-6) and Phoenix Suns (3-3) is the midpoint of a five-game road trip for Houston, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We have the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.
The game tips off at 9:00 p.m. Central and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.
Led by the likes of Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Christian Wood, the young Rockets (1-6) enter with five straight losses. However, they could be more dangerous than their lowly record looks, since the competition has been steep — and they’re coming off Tuesday’s strong performance that nearly resulted in a win over the Lakers in Los Angeles.
As usual, the Suns (3-3) are led by a veteran backcourt of perennial All-Stars in Chris Paul and Devin Booker. It will be yet another tough test for Green and Porter, who are just 19 and 21 years old, respectively.
Rockets at Suns notable injuries:
For Houston, Danuel House Jr. will miss a third consecutive game due to a right foot sprain, while Daniel Theis is questionable with soreness in his right great toe. Theis missed Tuesday’s game with the injury, which allowed Sengun to make the first start of his young NBA career.
The Rockets might catch a break in the other direction, however, since Suns center Deandre Ayton is questionable with a right lower leg contusion. He did not play in Phoenix’s last game due to the injury. Reserve guard Cameron Payne, who has missed four straight games for the Suns, is questionable with a right hamstring strain. Dario Šarić is out due to the ACL injury he suffered during the 2021 NBA Finals.

Advice and prediction
Tuesday’s game versus the Lakers was the first time this season that a Houston game has gone “over” the over-under point total. Phoenix ranks in the middle of the pack on defense and doesn’t have athletic defenders in the mold of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, so it could be an opportunity for Green, Porter, and Wood to put up more numbers.
On the other hand, with two star veteran guards available to close out the game, it’s hard to see the Rockets getting a straight-up win.
Prediction: Suns 115, Rockets 107
