Rockets at Grizzlies: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Our prediction and best bet for Saturday’s Rockets vs. Grizzlies game, with odds from @Tipico Sportsbook.

The Houston Rockets kick off a three-game road trip in Memphis on Saturday night, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. CT and can be seen on AT&T SportsNet Southwest (Rockets), Bally Sports Southeast (Grizzlies)

The Rockets fell at home on Friday night, surrendering a fourth-quarter lead to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks to end their seven-game winning streak. The Grizzlies are short-handed due to injuries and the health and safety protocol, but they have won six of their last seven games despite those issues.

Rockets at Grizzlies notable injuries:

Rockets: The Rockets have not yet issued an injury report for Saturday, but Kevin Porter Jr. (left thigh contusion), Jalen Green (left hamstring strain), Danuel House Jr. (left ankle sprain), Usman Garuba (right thigh contusion), John Wall (team decision) missed Friday’s game.

Grizzlies: Ja Morant (health and safety protocols, left knee sprain), Dillon Brooks (health and safety protocols), Brandon Clarke (right knee soreness), Sam Merrill (left ankle sprain) and Ziaire Williams (left ankle sprain) are out.

Advice and prediction

The Rockets at plus-8.5 aren’t a bad bet, but I’d wait to see if the line moves closer to game time as it did on Friday night. Still, the best bet of the night looks like a player prop on Jaren Jackson Jr., who has been outstanding for Memphis as it has dealt with roster issues of late.

Jackson has led the Grizzlies in scoring in four of the last six games despite a cold streak from beyond the arc. He scored 18 points in a blowout win over the Rockets in November in just 24 minutes, and is receiving a much bigger workload now. I’m taking over 20.5 points for Jackson Jr. at minus-109 odds, and over 18.5 points for Desmond Bane, who is averaging 32.5 minutes and 17.5 shot attempts as a lead scoring option over his last four games.

Prediction: Grizzlies 119, Rockets 111
