The Rockets announced this Saturday, Oct. 16 as the date of their annual fan fest and open practice at Toyota Center in downtown Houston. The event, which returns after a one-year hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is free and available for all ages.
According to the announcement, fan fest will start at 10 a.m. local time, while the open practice begins at noon. Eric Gordon and Danuel House Jr. are the only members of the 2019-20 Rockets who are still on Houston’s roster, so for most of the current players — headlined by Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Christian Wood — it will be the first opportunity to engage with fans in such a unique practice format. In past years, players have often signed autographs for fans and have even taken pictures.
Saturday’s event will also feature the official release of the team’s new Warren Lotas collection of merchandise, along with a custom Rockets sneaker contest for fans. Food will be available from vendors affiliated with local Houston rappers Bun B and Trae tha Truth.
Further details on the event and its schedule are available here. Fans who RSVP at the link will also be given a special offer to purchase $10 tickets to an upcoming game on either Oct. 22, Oct. 24, or Oct. 28.
