Rocket Sanders. Quinshon Judkins.
Flip a coin.
The Arkansas running back – the former – and the Ole Miss back – the latter – are without a shadow of a doubt the two best running backs returning in the SEC this year. As to which one is better, who it’s a complete toss-up.
Sanders is a touch more established, what with being a junior against Judkins’ status as a sophomore. Judkins had just over100 more yards on the ground (1,565 to 1,443) and six more scores. But he needed more than 50 more carries for those results. Sanders practically doubled him up in receptions, yards receiving and receiving touchdowns.
But the man they call Rocket isn’t concerned with all that. He’s more focused on Arkansas taking the next step forward.
“Of course, the main goal is trying to get 1,000 yards, but not even that, I want to win this year,” Sanders said. “Yeah I’ve got self goals, but I’m going to keep that to myself. I’ll say for a team goal, I want to make it far. I feel like the sky is the limit.”
It could be. Sanders is the best back Arkansas has had since Rawleigh Williams III and potentially even Alex Collins. Collins, by the way, is the second greatest running back in school history. A massive season by Sanders would put him on that map.
And that massive season would help accomplish his primary goal. With Arkansas’ schedule as easy (relatively speaking) as it has been in a decade, 2024 may just be the best opportunity the Razorbacks have had in even longer than that.
