Former Patriots standouts Danny Shelton and Jamie Collins are now Lions, which ostensibly gives Matt Patricia a bit of the Pats culture he so clearly wants to build. Losing tackle Ricky Wagner and guard Graham Glasgow, while signing former Eagles tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai to a five-year, $45 million deal seems like a net negative. Signing former Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant to a two-year deal is a decent move, except that it allows Patricia to keep shopping Darius Slay, which is definitely not. Of course, the Lions wound up trading Slay to the Eagles. Patricia’s commitment to “culture” seems more about him than anybody else.
