Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker scored the first points of Super Bowl LV on Sunday night with a 49-yard field goal, but the Buccaneers immediately responded with a touchdown on the ensuing drive.
The Bucs capped a 75-yard drive with an 8-yard touchdown connection between Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. The former Patriots teammates connected for their 13th career playoff touchdown, setting a new NFL record and surpassing the total set by 49ers legends Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.
The TD was also Tom Brady’s first touchdown of his career in the first quarter of a Super Bowl, which is mind-blowing considering he’s made 10 starts on the NFL’s biggest stage.
