Rob Gronkowski addresses rumors of Tom Brady reunion with Bucs: ‘You just never know’

Hmm.

Does it sound like Rob Gronkowski is about to drop everything and un-retire tomorrow to join Tom Brady in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers?

I’d say no.

But does it sound like Gronk hasn’t completely closed the door on his NFL career that ended at age 29?

I’d say … yes.

The former tight end and WWE 24/7 champion was on Watch What Happens Live, and was asked by Andy Cohen to address the buzz about whether he’ll come out of retirement to join Brady (although, as our Henry McKenna noted recently, the Patriots own his rights and would have to trade him). Here’s what he said:

“The day that I retired, within 24 hours there was already rumors that I was coming out of retirement. I’m feeling good right now, I’m happy where I’m at, and you just never know, man. You just never know. You never know. I’m not totally done, I like to stay in shape, but I’ve got to get that feeling back.”

Focus more on “I’ve got to get that feeling back,” that sounds like he’s not in the mindset that he has to return to the NFL. But he did say, “You just never know.” Hmmm.
