Although the Nets will enter the Disney World bubble as a playoff team with a sizeable advantage over the ninth-place Wizards, Brooklyn’s shortened roster gave Washington a chance to force a play-in game.
However, without Davis Bertans, that feat became much more difficult for the Wizards.
And now it may not be possible for Washington to cut the gap enough to force a play-in game against either the Nets or the Orlando Magic.
They will now be without their franchise player, Bradley Beal.
The Wizards announced on Tuesday that the two-time All-Star guard will not participate in the NBA’s resumption of the 2019-20 season due to a right rotator cuff injury.

The Nets will face the Wizards once at Disney, on August 2 at 2 p.m. — two days after they begin their eight-game slate of seeding games against the Magic.
