North Carolina is 7-2 on the early season following a loss to No. 5 UConn in Madison Square Garden. Despite the loss, there was some positive from the game.
That came in the form of guard RJ Davis. The guard scored 26 points on 8-of-17 shooting and 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. He made history with that stat line, tying the longest streak by a D-I player this century for a player scoring 25 or more points and going 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.
The other player that accomplished that feat? Stephen Curry at Davidson back in 2008.
RJ Davis of @UNC_Basketball has scored at least 25 points and gone 5-for-5 or better from the free throw line in four straight games.
This is tied for the longest streak by a D-I player this century, along with Stephen Curry in 2008.

Davis has been UNC’s most consistent player this season, helping them to their first seven wins. He will have the chance to break the record when UNC faces off against Kentucky on December 16th in the CBS Sports Classic.
If Davis can play this well throughout the season, UNC should be in good shape.
