With the college basketball season just a few weeks away, the media continues to release predictions and All-American teams. The latest comes from the Associated Press and to no one’s surprise, North Carolina guard RJ Davis was selected.
The AP released its preseason All-American team, naming six players to the list ahead of the 2024-25 season: RJ Davis (North Carolina), Cooper Flagg (Duke), Mark Sears (Alabama), Caleb Love (Arizona), Hunter Dickinson (Kansas) and Johni Boone (Auburn).
Of the 55-man media panel to select the teams, Davis received votes on 51 of those ballots. That was the second-most among the selection behind only Sears who appeared on 54 ballots.
After a standout season a year ago, Davis earned the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year award and was a first-team AP and consensus All-America.
“I know there’s more work to be done,” Davis told the AP via GoHeels. “I know my jersey’s not going up until I leave. So there’s some more records to break and some more work to be done. I’m satisfied but I’m not satisfied, if that makes sense.”
Davis was named the 2024-25 ACC Preseason Player of the Year from the media last week.
North Carolina will open up the season on November 4th, hosting Elon in the Dean Dome.
