One of Florida football’s most-favored in-state recruiting targets set his commitment date for Friday, July 14, according to his announcement made on his personal Twitter account Tuesday night.
Three-star cornerback [autotag]Teddy Foster[/autotag] out of Sarasota (Florida) Cardinal Mooney released his top three schools last week, which included the Florida Gators as well as the Miami Hurricanes and North Carolina Tar Heels. However, the Orange and Blue hold a significant lead for the 6-foot-2-inch, 175-pound defensive back’s talents.
“I think UF is number one right now for sure,” he told Swamp247 following his most recent UF visit. “Development is crazy here. The resources are immaculate. My sister just got a diploma from here. The academics are off the charts. She had a great experience here. They check off all the boxes.”
The rising high school senior is a bit of a late bloomer on the recruiting scene after flying under the radar at the beginning of the calendar year. However, Gators secondary coach Corey Raymond spearheaded the effort to uncover this possible hidden gem with a visit to his high school back in May.
“He likes my frame, how I move, me being able to play both sides — safety and corner,” he told Gators Online. “Good size, good length.”
Foster is ranked No. 757 overall and No. 67 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking closely agrees at Nos. 767 and 67, respectively.
Florida holds two crystal ball predictions for him from 247Sports as well as the lead in On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine with an overwhelming 97.7% chance of signing him.
