Penn State may be the favorite in Tuesday night’s Fiesta Bowl against Boise State, but that wasn’t about to persuade a two-ton rhinoceros with its pick in this year’s College Football Playoff quarterfinal. Chutti the rhino resides in the Phoenix Zoo and has weighed in on the outcome of the Fiesta Bowl.
Chutti was given a couple of boxes to choose from, one with the Penn State logo and another with the Boise State logo. Whichever box he destroys is recorded as the rhino’s pick to lose the game. Unfortunately for Penn State, Chutti trampled the Penn State logo.
Or perhaps that is good news for the Nittany Lions? Chutti is 1-2 in his three previous picks for the Fiesta Bowl, so this could all end up being a good omen for the favored Nittany Lions.
Maybe Penn State would have had better luck if the lions at the zoo got to make the pick.
Penn State and Boise State will play in the Fiesta Bowl on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET. The winner will advance to the Orange Bowl in Miami to face the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between Georgia and Notre Dame.
Penn State and Boise State are each undefeated in the Fiesta Bowl with the Nittany Lions owning a 7-0 record in the game and the Broncos standing at 3-0.
