Christian Pulisic is on the verge of joining AC Milan.
Multiple reports have stated that Chelsea and Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of the U.S. men’s national team star, who will begin a new chapter of his career in Serie A.
The Athletic reported that Milan will pay an initial €20 million plus €2m in add-ons for Pulisic, who was about to enter the final year of his contract at Chelsea.
The move brings an end to a rocky four-year spell at Stamford Bridge for Pulisic, who put together strong runs of form in sporadic bursts, along with frustrating spells of injury as well as periods outside of Chelsea’s starting lineup.
Pulisic had his worst season at Chelsea in 2022-23, starting just eight Premier League games while scoring only one total goal.
At 24, Pulisic is entering the prime of his career and appears to have found a strong landing spot in Milan, the champions of Italy in 2021-22 and Champions League semifinalists last season.
Amid his up-and-down form at club level, Pulisic has remained a vital piece for the USMNT. He started all four of the team’s games at the 2022 World Cup, scoring one goal and adding two assists.
Overall, Pulisic has scored 25 goals in 60 caps for the USMNT.
