Reports have D’Andre Swift ‘unlikely’ to play vs. Texans

Swift is still battling a concussion

Lions rookie RB D’Andre Swift is “unlikely” to play in the Thanksgiving matinee vs. the Houston Texans due to his lingering concussion issues, per multiple reports.

Both Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network issues similarly worded statements within minutes of each other on Swift’s status. Swift did return to practice scenarios this week, though the Lions did not hold a formal practice session in the shortened workweek.

Swift also missed the Week 11 loss to the Carolina Panthers after suffering the concussion at some point between then and the Week 10 game, where he did not show any signs of being wounded.

Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson will take the lion’s share of Swift’s work against the Texans’ bottom-feeding run defense.
