The news surrounding quarterback Tom Brady has cast greater uncertainty on his status with the New England Patriots.
Brady is expecting not only to hit free agency but also to land with another team, according to ESPN. ESPN’s Jeff Darlington is reporting that “Brady is evaluating the NFL landscape with the intention of departing.” Brady has not spoken with the Patriots about a contract extension to this point, according to the Boston Herald.
Brady’s deal will void on March 18, and he will enter free agency, barring an extension with the Patriots. The free agency tampering period opens on March 16. That’s when Brady can begin contract discussions with other NFL teams. This would be Brady’s first foray into NFL free agency.
