The first key to unlocking the Golden State Warriors 2023 offseason revolves around Bob Myers.
After serving as the team’s longtime general manager and president of basketball operations, Myers’ contract with the Warriors is set to expire at the end of June. Myers and the Warriors have yet to connect on a contract extension.
Shams Charania of The Athletic recently reported that the Warriors are bracing for the likelihood that Myers could walk away from the franchise with no substantial contract talks in months.
With questions surrounding his future in Golden State, another team from the association is reportedly expressed interest in Myers. According to Marc Stein of Substack, the Washington Wizards registered “some measure of formal interest” in the Warriors president of basketball operations.

After parting ways with Tommy Sheppard, the Wizards are currently the only team in the league with an opening at general manager.
Following their loss in the second round of the playoffs to the Los Angeles Lakers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN initially reported Myers would take a couple of weeks to make a decision on his future.
Since joining Golden State’s front office in 2011, Myers has helped lay the blueprint for nine playoff teams and four championship rosters.
Alongside Steve Kerr, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, Myers is widely looked at as one of the pillars of Golden State’s dynasty run.
